  • Fundamental Disaster Preparation and Management is a 1-2 day, scenario-based supplement course focused on mitigating the effects of disaster-related dangers. Topics include developing robust disaster plans, assessing and managing risk, evacuation considerations and techniques, supply management, improvisational techniques, security and self-defense, federal incident command system, and the psychology of survival. (8+ hours)
  • Supplementing a WFR certification with Fundamental Disaster Preparation and Management will result in the designation Wilderness First Responder—Disaster (WFR-D).
  • FEMA ICS-100 and FEMA IS-700 certificates are required prior to the start of the course.
