- Fundamental Marine and Dive Medicine is a 1-day, scenario-based supplement course specializing in the identification and management of illnesses and injuries encountered in the marine, boating, and diving environments. Topics include trip planning and preparation, open-water illness and trauma, watersport-related trauma management, diving fundamentals, dive emergencies, medical protocols/procedures, and evacuation decision-making. - Supplementing a WFA/WFR certification with Fundamental Marine and Dive Medicine will result in the upgrade to Wilderness First Aid—Marine (WFA-M) or Wilderness First Responder—Marine (WFR-M), respectively, and meets the requirements for a US Coast Guard Wilderness First Aid course.
